Desktop app guide
Use Tabple faster and more comfortably with the desktop app.
How to install
Download
On the download page, pick the entry for the device you use: Mac, Windows, or Linux. The Mac app is only distributed through the Mac App Store.
macOS install
Search the Mac App Store for 'Tabple', or click the App Store badge on the download page, then choose Get to finish installing. Updates also arrive automatically from the App Store.
Windows install
Run the .exe installer to finish the install. If a firewall prompt appears, choose Allow access.
A security warning appeared during install
Windows — SmartScreen warning
When the blue 'Windows protected your PC' window appears, click More info and then Run anyway, and the install continues.
macOS — no warning
The Mac app ships only through the Mac App Store, so it is signed and notarized by Apple. It runs straight away, with no unidentified developer warning.
Linux — DEB package
On Debian and Ubuntu systems, download and install the DEB package.
sudo dpkg -i tabple-desktop_amd64.debLinux — RPM package
On Fedora and RHEL systems, use the RPM package.
sudo rpm -i tabple-desktop.x86_64.rpmLinux — AppImage
Works on any distribution: grant execute permission and it runs.
chmod +x Tabple-Desktop.AppImage
./Tabple-Desktop.AppImageOperating systems can show a security warning when you run an installer downloaded from the internet. If it is the official installer from the download page, continue with the steps below.
Desktop-only features
- Offline editing — edit wiki pages without internet (they sync automatically on reconnect)
- Quick search — Cmd+Shift+K (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+K (Windows) opens Tabple even while you are in another app
- Desktop notifications — see mentions, comments, and task changes instantly as OS notifications
- Auto-update — the app updates itself to the latest version on launch
- System tray — keeps running in the tray when minimized
