Use Tabple faster and more comfortably with the desktop app.
How to install
Download
On the download page, pick the entry for the device you use: Mac, Windows, or Linux. The Mac app is only distributed through the Mac App Store.
macOS install
Search the Mac App Store for 'Tabple', or click the App Store badge on the download page, then choose Get to finish installing. Updates also arrive automatically from the App Store.
Windows install
Download the MSI (recommended) or the EXE installer from the download page and run it to finish the install. It works on Windows 10 or later, and if a firewall prompt appears, choose Allow access.
A security warning appeared during install
Windows — SmartScreen warning
When the blue 'Windows protected your PC' window appears, click More info and then Run anyway, and the install continues.
macOS — no warning
The Mac app ships only through the Mac App Store, so it is signed and notarized by Apple. It runs straight away, with no unidentified developer warning.
Linux — DEB package
On Debian and Ubuntu systems, download and install the DEB package.
sudo dpkg -i Tabple_*.debLinux — RPM package
On Fedora and RHEL systems, use the RPM package.
sudo rpm -i Tabple-*.rpmLinux — AppImage
Works on any distribution: grant execute permission and it runs.
chmod +x Tabple_*.AppImage
./Tabple_*.AppImageOperating systems can show a security warning when you run an installer downloaded from the internet. If it is the official installer from the download page, continue with the steps below.
Desktop-only features
- Offline editing — write wiki pages, tasks, memos, and chat without internet, and everything syncs automatically on reconnect (the chip at the right of the title bar shows how many changes are waiting to send)
- Use offline — in Settings > App settings > Use offline (for projects, Project settings > Advanced), the projects you choose and your memos, records, personal calendar, and D-Days are downloaded to this device so you can read and edit them without a connection. Available with a Lifetime license, a Storage subscription, or a team seat; attachments and chat are not downloaded
- Unsent changes — if something you changed offline collides with someone else's edit, it is not overwritten but kept in Settings > App settings > Unsent changes, where you can review it and reapply or discard it
- Offline search — with no connection, Cmd+K finds the titles of the wiki pages and tasks saved on this device
- Global shortcuts — Cmd+Shift+K (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+K (Windows) opens search even while you are in another app, and Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P creates a new wiki page
- Desktop notifications — see mentions, comments, and task changes instantly as OS notifications
- Auto-update — the Windows app tells you in an update window when a new version is out and installs it right inside the app, while the Mac app is updated by the App Store
- System tray — closing the window keeps the app running in the tray, so notifications and global shortcuts keep working. To quit completely, use Cmd+Q (Mac) / Ctrl+Q (Windows) or Quit in the tray menu (on Windows, the ⋯ menu inside the window also has Quit Tabple)
- Zoom — set 75%–150% in Settings > App settings > Zoom (Cmd+= / Cmd+- / Cmd+0, Ctrl on Windows)
- Launch at login — turn it on in Settings > App settings > Startup
